Lambert High School is a public high school located in Forsyth County, Georgia a suburb northeast of Atlanta. It is the newest of 5 high schools in the Forsyth County School District.[1]

History

Lambert High School is named after Clarence Lambert.[2] Clarence Lambert was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He received degrees in vocational agriculture from University of Georgia and a masters' degree in school administration from Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University. He served as the first principal of Forsyth County High School which is now called Forsyth Central High School. Mr. Lambert also worked at the Georgia Department of Education as a program coordinator, Assistant Superintendent in charge of facilities at Forsyth County Schools, and as Interim Superintendent of Forsyth County Schools.[3]

The students are drawn from Forsyth Central High School and South Forsyth High School. Lambert currently serves grades 9-12.[4]

Athletics

Retrieved 2011-03-28.  Sports teams at Lambert include: Competitive Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Softball, Volleyball, Boys' Basketball, Girls' Basketball, Swimming, Wrestling, Baseball, Golf, Boys' Lacrosse, Girls' Lacrosse, Boys' Soccer, Girls' Soccer, Boys' Tennis, Girl's Tennis, Track and Field.[5] The school is a member of the Georgia High School Association. It has a live mascot named Louie the Longhorn.[2] Lambert's regional rivals are South Forsyth High School and Johns Creek High School (the latter being located in nearby Fulton County).

In 2010 the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team had a record of 18-2, losing to Lovett High School in the State Semifinals. The Boys JV Lacrosse team went undefeated, being the first LHS athletic team to do so.

The first non-athletic group in LHS to have an undefeated season was the LHS Stampede Marching Band. They won the first class and division championship in the school's history. During their winter season, the band's color guard won the school's first state championship.[6]

In 2011, the Lambert Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team won the class 4-a state championship, defeating Pope High School 14-7. By doing so, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team became the first Lambert athletics team to win a state title.
